He passed away in the early morning of Friday May 1st at the age of 85. He worked in the Italian motorhome industry for almost 50 years and shaped it like no other. Some also call him the Erwin Hymer of Italy.
After working as a supplier to the industry for ten years, in 1980 he seized the opportunity and took over the insolvent Caravans International (CI). With his ideas and a feel for the market needs, he soon brought the brand back to the front and made a name for himself for the first time in Germany with very cheap alcove vehicles in the early 1990s.
